This here gorgeous beast is a 1954 Hohner President tenor saxophone, a (Max) Keilwerth stencil, and quite possibly out of the same German factory in which my alto would be made 12 years following the manufacture of this one. Just this afternoon I made my way into the Inner Sunset, where I traded in a pair of unused instruments along with a not-too-painful sum of cash in exchange for this wonderful instrument. This horn absolutely screams, and should provide endless amusement once I shake a bit more of the rust in my chops loose.
I have to say, mad props and thanks
to this guy: decent, fair, responsive. 0% snake oil. Stand-up dude, highly recommended.
